Flexible insoles are 0.06 in. (1.5 mm) thick and are better for shaping double curves, for example around the heel.

Rigid insoles are 0.1 in. (2.5 mm) thick and made to be used as a rolling insole for diabetic patients. Made for shaping single curves and is harder to shape around the heel.
