Bakslap began as a tribute to the founder's sister, Tess, who passed away from melanoma. Initially launched in 2019 as a sunscreen applicator for hard-to-reach places, it quickly found unexpected uses in aged care and rehabilitation. Feedback from these sectors highlighted its broader potential, leading to a shift in the brand's focus.

As demand from people with mobility issues grew, allied health professionals began recommending and purchasing Bakslap for their clients. They requested a professional-grade version, leading to the creation of the Bakslap Professionals applicator.
Co-designed with GPs, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists to better suit patients in aged care, disability support, and post-surgery recovery. It features a washable antimicrobial sponge, interchangeable loofah pad, and easy-open release pin, making it suitable for both clinical and home use.
Bakslap is driven by a mission to provide simple self-care tools, partnering with cancer awareness campaigns and trusted brands.
Now distributed exclusively through OPC Health, Bakslap Professionals aims to restore dignity, promote wellbeing, and offer solutions that enhance independence for everyone.
