Preferred is the most versatile of the NCM splinting material range. It offers minimum to moderate resistance to stretch with moderate drape where contours are quick to form. Moulded Preferred circumferential splints have a moderate rigidity flexible enough for easy donning and doffing, yet strong enough for immobilisation. The minimum to moderate memory allows for the splint to be modified a few times without thinning and it requires less handling and maintains contours while cooling.
The unique powder coating gives the material a tacky feel that helps hold the material in place without it pulling or falling away. Dry heating two surfaces will form a strong bond.
