ICB BioMechanical Protractor

The ICB Biomechanical Protractor is a diagnostic tool designed to assist in assessing lower limb biomechanical conditions.  With its easy-to-read face dial and swinging arm, this is a handy tool to have.  By gaining accurate measurements, practitioners are then able to formulate the orthotic prescription.

It is a valuable tool when measuring for forefoot deformities (forefoot valgus and forefoot varus), in addition to rearfoot positioning (Resting Calcaneal Stance Position -RCSP and Neutral Calcaneal Stance Position – NCSP).

The linear ruler can also be used to assist in measuring leg length discrepancy when using the supine medial malleoli asymmetry method (Fryer, G., International Journal of Osteopathic Medicine, Jun 2006, Factors influencing intra-examiner and inter-examiner reliability of palpation for supine medial malleoli asymmetry).
