Spinal Orthoses
Our range includes braces to treat severe acute spinal injuries (eg Minerva, HALO, SOMI, Malibu and Marlin) as well as short to long term soft tissue injuries and degenerative spinal conditions.
Upper Limb Orthoses
A range of shoulder, elbow and wrist/hand supports. Post operative elbow bracing from the Townsend & Trulife ranges to stabilise or provide range of motion control .
Hip Orthoses
Including the popular HippO Hip Abduction Brace and the Johnston Universal Hip Abduction (aka THR brace) is designed to facilitate rehabilitation after hip replacement surgery- when clinically indicated.
Knee Orthoses
We offer a full range of functional and OA knee bracing options including Townsend Design's Rebel Series, Sports Series and Custom Series. The Townsend ROM braces are designed for patients requiring post operative fixation and/or range of motion control, or injuries requiring short term stabilisation. There is also a full range of patella stabilising braces.
OA Bracing
Wearing a Townsend OA brace can, for many patients with OA, increase activity levels and enhance overall quality of life. The Rebel Reliever and RelieverOne in this range can be customised to suit the patient's needs and effectively brace disproportionate legs.
Townsend Hinged Knee Orthoses
Townsend Designs utilise patented knee hinge technology to improve functionality and performance of their knee braces. Designed to replicate the roll and glide range of motion of the anatomical knee joint. This action at the knee joint ensures maximum shell to skin contact during range of motion reducing the possibility of pistoning or gaping resulting in greater comfort and patient compliance.
For OA wearers our Hinged Knee Orthoses have options for unicompartmental (medial/lateral) OA, with or without knee instability; and the option for patients with severe knee instability or reduced function to choose a locked knee option for walking.
Custom Knee Orthoses and KAFO
The Townsend Premier Series custom made KAFO and knee braces are fabricated on prescription to the individual's clinical requirements from a cast mould or digital leg scan. The prescriber can choose the calf/thigh shell lengths, the type of knee joint(s) needed. Patella guards, Synergistic Suspension straps, double or single tibia shell bands are all options.The wearer can even choose the types of finish with some braces.

Orthotic Modular Componentry
Originally known as the USMC modular range of orthotic componentry it is now incorporated under the international Trulife Health Care range. This range includes hip, knee and ankle components for modular KAFO's, KO's, AFO's and Fracture Cast Bracing.
