ProDigits

Touch Bionics’ finger technology has been adapted for patients who have a partial hand requirement, due to either congenitally missing fingers or fingers lost through an accident.

  • Not having fingers or a thumb to act in opposition to one another makes simple tasks such as holding a fork or a cup difficult and frustrating for patients
  • Passive fingers, whilst providing both a cosmetic and partial grip function have limited value in performing activities of daily living.
Modular Construction

The modular nature of the ProDigit finger design and the individually-powered motor located within each digit means that a clinician can build replacement fingers to the correct anatomical length of the patient’s remaining undamaged fingers.  Each ProDigit equates to an individually powered and controlled finger.

Each finger is built to include a gearbox, which locates into the position of the knuckle; an individual motor contained with the position of the 1st phalange bone, an articulating knuckle, spacers and finger tip options.

Input Control Options

ProDigits can be controlled via inputs from either FSR (Force Sensitive Resistor) or Remote Electrodes – either input option is chosen on the basis of either signal site, available space and patient preference.

ProDigit Kits For clinicians:

Through the versatile construction of the ProDigit, prosthetists and healthcare professionals are now able to construct partial hand and missing digit solutions for patients and end-users in a way that is both anatomically correct and life-changing.  Each ProDigit bundle includes components to build a finger system.

  • Each kit comes with a ProDigit Assembly: a full set of length components, motor/gearbox housing, mounting plates, mounting spacers and wiring components; and ProDigit Controller including battery pack and chargers. prodigit.jpg
