Looking after your Breast Form
Always store your breast form especially lightweight breast forms in the cradle provided, this allows the form to 'rest' when you are not wearing it and helps maintain its shape. When you are putting the breast form into the bra pocket - cradle the breast form with your hand avoid folding, twisting and pulling on the form. Wash Wash your breast form regularly in very mild soap and water and rinse well. Avoid applying any lotions, oils and perfumes to your skin under the breast form or to the breast form itself.

Swimming with your Breast Form
You can wear your breast form when you are swimming but you must ensure it is secure in your bathing costume. Avoid subjecting breast forms to very hot chlorinated water. Harsh chemicals do impact on the integrity of the silky film. Wash your breast form immediatly after swimmng in very mild soap and water and rinse well.
Bra Fitting after Surgery
Check with your Breast Care Nurse or treating doctor if you are unsure about whether it is the right time for a fitting.
You may choose to continue wearing the bras you had prior to surgery, it is essential however that your bras are in good condition and that they provide good support and coverage if you are to be fitted with a Breast Form. Your mastectomy fitter can advise you on this when you make an appointment to be fitted with a Breast Form (prosthesis).
Any salon with a good bra fitting service will check your bra fit for you free of charge. It is worth having your bra fitting checked once a year to ensure that it still fits you and supports your breast and breast form well. A poorly fitting bra will damage your Breast Form and cause you discomfort. Weight gains and losses will change how your bra fits so if your bra starts to feel uncomfortable then have the fit checked. A well fitting bra will give your breasts/breast forms good support and shape and will enhance your appearance.
Care for your Mastectomy Bra
Trulife Naturalwear Mastectomy Bras are made from high quality materials. It is recommended that bras are hand washed in lukewarm water with mild soap and drip dry away from direct heat. Try to have two bras at any one time, one to wash and one to wear; this will help keep your bras in good shape for a longer period of time.
